Every year the IRS releases it “Dirty Dozen” tax scams. This is a list of the top 12 tax scams following court cases against a number of promoters.
If you are being approached by anyone who claims to have the ability to significantly lower or eliminate your tax liability, proceeed with caution. Of course, there are plenty of ways that qualified professionals can reduce your tax outlay. However, there are also many convincing frauds being circulated both in person and through the internet. Beware of the dirty dozen!
